Biography
Chin-Hsiang Cheng received Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Tatung University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1989. He is currently Distinguished Professor and Chairman of Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Chairman of International Bachelor Degree Program on Energy, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan. He has published more than 130 journal papers, 230 conference papers, and 26 patents. He served as Secretary General of Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of Taiwan (STAM) during 2008~2010, and then served as President of Astronautics and Astronautics Society of Taiwan (AASRC) during 2012 to 2014. He has been awarded as a member of International Academy of Astronautics since 2013. He is currently an active member in editorial boards of five international technical journals.
Research Interest
He has been doing researches related to Stirling engines and Stirling coolers for over twenty-five years. His current main research activities are focused on development of prototype engines and coolers, theoretical models and optimization as well.
