Prof. Keh-Chin Chang is currently working as professor in department of aeronautics and astronautics at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. (Mechanical Engineering) degree from University of Illinios at Chicago, USA in 1984.

His research interests include Energy Engineering , Aerospace Engineering and Thermal-Fluids Engineering.

Prof. Chung received his PhD from State U of NY at Buffalo (USA). He had worked for US industries for 15 years before joining NUS in 1995. He has produced 54 PhD students, published 1 book, 18 book chapters, 70 patents and patent applications, 564 journal papers and 350 conference papers. He is a Subject Editor of CHERD (Chem Eng Research and Design) and editorial board members of 20 journals including J. Membrane Science, AIChE J., I&EC Research, Desalination, Separation and Purification Reviews, Chemical Engineering J., Chemical Engineering and Technology, Polymer Engineering and Science, J., Applied Polymer Science, and many others. His H-index (Scopus) is 64 with citations > 16,900.

Prof. Chung research focuses on membranes for clean water, clean energy, and CO2 capture. In 2005-2008, he worked as a Senior Consultant for Hyflux, led and built its membrane research team. He was a co-inventor of Hyflux Kristal™ 600 ultrafiltration membranes which commercialized worldwide. He received (1) IES (Institution of Engineers, Singapore) Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award, (2) Hyflux‐SNIC (Singapore National Institute of Chemistry) Award in Environmental Chemistry, and (3) IChemE in Singapore Awards in Sustainability in 2010. He was appointed as Provost’s Chair and received Research Leadership Award from NUS in 2011. He became a Fellow in the Academy of Engineering Singapore in 2012. He received the Global Innovation Award, TechConnect 2014 (USA) and IChemE (Institute of Chemical Engineers, UK) 2014 Underwood Medal for Exceptional Research in Separations and Outstanding Researcher Award, National University of Singapore in 2015.

Dr. Huang is a professor in the Department of Energy and Refrigerating Air-Conditioning Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech). He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA in 1993. Prior joining the Taipei Tech, he worked as Section Chief in the Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan, and was in charge of developing advanced, critical multidisciplinary technologies, Integrating R&D of Industry, government, and academia, and promoting/enhancing product values. He facilitated and established the “Small Business Innovation Research Program” and “Industrial Technology Development Program” to boost Taiwan economy and to build solid R&D foundation for industry. He joined Taipei Tech in 1999 and has advised about 70 postgraduates with 1 book and 80 papers published, and 12 patents released, and had won more than 10 different awards in his innovation and research achievement nationwide or worldwide. He also actively severs as government committee members for the Public Construction Commission of Executive Yuan, the Energy Technology Program of Energy Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Industry Technology Research Institute Foundation, the Taiwan association of ventilation equipment standards, and the Construction and Planning Agency of Ministry of the Interior.

Prof. Huang’s research interests are mainly in Thermal-Fluids Engineering, Renewable Energy, Heat Transport in Porous Medium, Computer-aided-design of turbomachinery, and Refrigerating and air-conditioner, but not limited.

Prof. Hsin Chu received his B.S. (1978) in civil engineering and M.S. (1982) in environmental engineering from National Taiwan University. After two-year services in Taiwan Army, he went to the US to continue his study. He received his Ph.D. (1988) in environmental health engineering from Northwestern University. He started his professional career in Energy & Resources Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) back in Taiwan in March 1988. He did various researches in the fields of coal, oil, and gas combustion, low NOx burners, flue gas desulfurization, coal gasification, and electrostatic precipitation during the three and half years in ITRI. He accepted a faculty position in the Department of Environmental Engineering, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in 1991. He has been promoted from an associate professor, through professor, to distinguished professor since. He also served as the director of the Division of Academic Services, NCKU, and the chair of his department in the recent years.

Prof. Chu has broadened his research interests to NOx/SOx removal from conventional flue gas, H2S/COS/HCl removal from gasified coal gas, catalytic and photocatalytic conversion of VOCs, resource reuse, chemical looping combustion, CO2 mitigation, and microalgae cultivation and bio-fuels production. He has published more than 70 refereed journal papers and one book chapter and has been awarded many times in the class teaching and research work. He has been granted 8 patents and one of the patents has been technically transferred to seven engineering corporations. He loves being a bridge between the academic and industries.

Majid Ghassemi is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department at K. N. Toosi University of Technology; one of the most prestige’s technical university in Tehran, Iran. He is currently a Visiting Professor at Centre for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Research at the University of Birmingham. He teaches graduate and under graduate courses and conduct research in the area of heat transfer and its application in drug delivery, fuel cell and alternative energy. He has over 20 years of academic and industrial experience and served as the President of the K. N. Toosi University of Technology from 2010 through 2013. Professor Ghassemi has also served in several public and private boards and panels and supervised several undergraduate, masters and PhD students, published several books and many journal and conference papers. He is currently an Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Prevention and Treatment and Managing Editor of American Journal of Mechanical Engineering (AJME) as well as Editorial Board member for many international journals. Professor Ghassemi received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1993.

Prof. Tariq Alfariss is currently working as professor of Chemical Engineering in King Saud university, Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. (Chemical Engineering) degree from University of British Columbia, Canada in 1984.

Professor Wang was born in 1970 and graduated from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan with BS, MS and PhD qualifications undertaken between 1992 to 2000. He currently works at National I Lan University, Taiwan. As for his present areas of study, Biometric flow mixing, Microbial fuel cells, Micro fluidic devices and fuel cell flow slabs are the major fields. There are about 60 journal papers, 14 patents, 2 book chapter author and 1 book editor contributions that can be attributed to his research performance to date. In addition, Professor Wang was awarded the honor of University Distinguished Professor in 2011 and presented with a National Academic Award in 2013.

As for his present areas of study, Biometric flow mixing, Microbial fuel cells, Micro fluidic devices and fuel cell flow slabs are the major fields.

Chin-Hsiang Cheng received Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Tatung University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1989. He is currently Distinguished Professor and Chairman of Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Chairman of International Bachelor Degree Program on Energy, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan. He has published more than 130 journal papers, 230 conference papers, and 26 patents. He served as Secretary General of Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of Taiwan (STAM) during 2008~2010, and then served as President of Astronautics and Astronautics Society of Taiwan (AASRC) during 2012 to 2014. He has been awarded as a member of International Academy of Astronautics since 2013. He is currently an active member in editorial boards of five international technical journals.

He has been doing researches related to Stirling engines and Stirling coolers for over twenty-five years. His current main research activities are focused on development of prototype engines and coolers, theoretical models and optimization as well.
